 Yoshito Hori
President, GLOBIS University
Managing Partner, GLOBIS Capital Partners

Mr. Yoshito Hori established GLOBIS Management School in 1992 and GLOBIS Capital Partners in 1996. In 2003, GLOBIS started its original MBA program which, in 2006, received accreditation from the Japanese Ministry of Education to issue the MBA degree (awarded university status). GLOBIS started a part-time MBA program in English in 2009 and will launch a full-time MBA program in English in 2012.
Prior to GLOBIS, Mr. Hori worked for Sumitomo Corporation.
Mr. Hori founded the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Japan Chapter and became the first board member from Asia in charge of the EO Asia Pacific region. He also served on the World Economic Forum’s New Asian Leaders Executive Committee, as well as the Harvard Business School Alumni Board from 2005–2008. Currently, Mr. Hori is a member of the board of the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), and the Japan Private Equity Association.
In 2008, he launched the G1 summit, hoping to serve as the Japanese version of the Davos conference. After the earthquake of March 2011 he introduced the Project Kibow, an organization to support the rebuilding of the affected areas. The following year he established the Kibow Foundation and serves as the chairman.
Mr. Hori has authored several books including Visionary Leaders who Create and Innovate Societies, Six Dimensions of Life, and My Personal Mission Statement.
Mr. Hori received his BS in Engineering from Kyoto University in Japan and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Above all, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially with his 5 sons.

 Yousuke Inoue
Managing Director, GLOBIS Corporate Education

Since joining GLOBIS, Mr. Yosuke Inoue has provided consulting and training programs for corporate clients in a broad spectrum of sectors and industries. Mr. Inoue led the opening of the GLOBIS Management School (GMS) Nagoya Campus and promoted the launch of GLOBIS Corporate Education (GCE) there. He subsequently served as Director of GCE, Director of GLOBIS Executive Development and currently is the Managing Director of GCE. Mr. Inoue also lectures on “Leadership”, “Critical Thinking”, “Business Facilitation”, “Management Strategy” and “Marketing” at GLOBIS University and in corporate training programs.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Inoue joined a consumer products maker and was involved in material procurement for the overseas division and operational management at a Chinese factory. He subsequently worked in sales and marketing for the domestic division.
Mr. Inoue graduated from the Faculty of Law at Gakushuin University. He has completed the IEP (International Executive Programme) course at INSEAD, France, and the HPL (High Performance Leadership) course at IMD, Switzerland.

Eiji Kamada
Managing Director and Chief Leadership Officer (CLO) of GLOBIS

Mr. Eiji Kamada is the Chief Leadership Officer (CLO) and Managing Director of the Corporate Administration Division for GLOBIS. Prior to assuming this position, he served as Managing Director in charge of Group human resources, General Manager of the Nagoya Office and Company President of GLOBIS Corporate Education. Additionally, as a lecturer, Mr. Kamada teaches leadership courses at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, the GLOBIS Management School, and in corporate training programs. He has written Leadership through Self-discipline (Diamond Inc.).
Before joining GLOBIS in 1999, Mr. Kamada worked at the Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan (LTCB), where he was involved in corporate marketing and provided support to corporate customers in the areas of growth strategy and structural reform. He also handled business process reengineering for the Bank’s System Planning Division and was responsible for hiring and skills development for the Personnel Division. At LTCB Trust Company, he supervised management as head of the Marketing Division.
Mr. Kamada graduated from Hokkaido University with a degree in economics. He has completed the CSEP(Columbia Senior Executive Program)course at Columbia Business School, US.

Soichi Kariyazono
Managing Partner, GLOBIS Capital Partners

Mr. Soichi Kariyazono is a founding Partner of the Apax GLOBIS Japan Fund and previously served as fund manager of the firm’s first venture capital fund, the GLOBIS Incubation Fund. At GLOBIS Capital Partners, Mr. Kariyazono is responsible for managing approximately 40 billion yen in funds entrusted by institutional investors worldwide, and for providing comprehensive support encompassing human resources, funding and management know-how to promising venture businesses in Japan.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Kariyazono worked for the Management Consulting Division of the Sanwa Research Institute Corporation. He has authored 3 Japanese books on entrepreneurial strategy.
Mr. Kariyazono received a BA in Law from Keio University in Japan and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business.

 Tsuyoshi Shimada
Managing Director and Chief Editor, GLOBIS Publishing Division
Mr. Tsuyoshi Shimada is in charge of publishing and licensing at GLOBIS. As a lecturer, he teaches courses in management accounting, quantitative analysis for business, management strategy, strategic implementation and business plan, and serves as facilitator for action learning at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, and in corporate training programs. Mr. Shimada has written GLOBIS MBA Business Writing, Hypothesis-Based Business Thinking (all published by Diamond Inc.), GLOBIS MBA Intensive Lectures:Logical Thinking (PHP Inc.) andThe Mindset for Making Value and Profit (Toyo Keizai Inc.) and Hypothesis-Based Business Thinking (Diamond Inc.). His co-authored publications include GLOBIS MBA Management Book, GLOBIS MBA Business Development, MBA Business Plan and MBA Quantitative Analysis (all published by Diamond Inc.) and Venture Management Revolution (Nikkei Business Publications). He co-translated Strategic Thinking for the Next Economy (Toyo Keizai Inc.) and The Leadership Pipeline—How to Build the Leadership-powered company (Eiji Press Inc.).
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Shimada worked at a foreign manufacturer of laboratory equipment. He also worked for a strategic management consulting firm, where he specialized in industry/company analysis and support for the planning and implementation of business strategies.
Mr. Shimada graduated from the University of Tokyo with a Master of Science degree.
Soichiro Serizawa
Managing Director, GLOBIS Executive School

Mr. Soichiro Serizawa is responsible for executive education as head of the GLOBIS Executive School. He concurrently holds the post of Executive Fellow at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University. He has also served as head of the organizational learning business, where he handled management education for corporate clients and as Managing Director of the Corporate Administration Division for GLOBIS, where he oversaw personnel, accounting, and finance and information systems. His published works include The Individualized Corporation (Diamond Inc.). He co-translated Strategic Thinking for the Next Economy (Toyo Keizai Inc.).
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Serizawa worked in the Controller section at Tonen Corporation (currently Tonen General Sekiyu K.K.), where he was involved in policymaking for the entire corporate budget, the overall assessment of plant and equipment investment, reporting to shareholders, and re-engineering projects. He was previously engaged in organizational development at the research institute of Tonen, participating in projects such as research efficiency enhancement.
Mr. Serizawa graduated from Hitotsubashi University with a degree in Commerce and Management and received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Toru Takahashi
Managing Director, GLOBIS Corporate Education

Mr. Toru Takahashi, Managing Director of GLOBIS Corporate Education, oversees corporate education and organizational transformation projects for corporate clients. Mr. Takahashi also gives lecturers regarding “Organizational Behavior and Leadership” and “Strategy” in the International MBA Program at GLOBIS University as well as for corporate training seminars. He is also a board member of GLOBIS China Co., Ltd.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Takahashi was employed by Marubeni Corporation, where he was primarily involved in developing overseas businesses with machinery manufacturers. During his career at Marubeni, he participated in infrastructure development projects in Iran and subsequently engaged in a wider range of businesses based in Belgium including management support, logistics, and financing for invested companies and business partners in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr. Takahashi graduated from Sophia University with a degree in economics and took part in the SEP (Stanford Executive Program) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

 Yoshihiko Takubo
Dean, Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University (Japanese) Executive Trustee, Educational Corporation of GLOBIS University

As Deputy Dean at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University and as Managing Director at the GLOBIS Management School, Mr. Yoshihiko Takubo is currently involved in project planning, management, research, and development of study materials. Mr. Takubo also serves as a lecturer for the Analytical Skill Courses and the Leadership Development Courses (Critical Thinking 1 and 2, Quantitative Analysis for Business, Business Presentation, Keiei-Dojo, Leadership Development and Practice, Strategic Implementation, Corporate Philosophy and Social Values, Middle Management Program and Executive Management Program) at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, the GLOBIS Management School and corporate training seminars. Mr. Takubo has written Communicating Through Numbers , Lay The Graundwork For Your Business and GLOBIS MBA Critical Communication (all published by Diamond, Inc.). He also co-translated Cultivate your Kokorozashi (Toyo Keizai Inc.), The Grand Design for the New Century (Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc.) and The Environment and Business: A Complete Forecast (Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc.) and other publications.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Takubo joined Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc., where he was engaged in investigation, research, and consulting services mainly for the energy industry and government ministries (the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology, and others).
Mr. Takubo received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Science and Technology from Keio University. He subsequently enrolled in the PED (Program for Executive Development) course at IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Switzerland.

Reika Cho
President, GLOBIS China Co., Ltd.

As the head of GLOBIS’ Chinese operation, Ms. Reika Cho is responsible for overall management. She is also a lecturer and teaches courses on organizational behavior and enhancement of critical thinking skills.
Previously at GLOBIS, Ms. Cho was involved in establishing a teaching infrastructure and developing content for a program centered on logical thinking and problem solving as well as other course content. She has given lectures at the GLOBIS Management School and at organizational training sessions, and has planned and implemented projects aimed at nurturing future leaders.
Ms. Cho left GLOBIS to establish Shanghai Sanka Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, where she developed core personnel at both Japanese and Chinese companies operating in China. She has also served as a guest lecturer for the EMBA program at the College of Continuing Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Born in Harbin, China, Ms. Cho graduated from the Japanese Language Department of Changchun University and taught Japanese at the Japanese Language Department of Southeast University before coming to Japan in 2000. She obtained her master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Tokyo, the Graduate School of Education.

Tomoya Nakamura
Dean, Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University

Mr. Tomoya Nakamura is in charge of the English MBA Programs at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University. He teaches subjects in the leadership arena and the globalization arena at GLOBIS University. Mr. Nakamura conducted various global training programs for corporate clients. He periodically writes a column, “Ki and Management” for GLOBIS.JP.
Prior to GLOBIS, he started his professional career at Marubeni Corporation, reorganized an invested company at Advantage Partners and was the Senior Managing Director of Sun-Life Corporation (JASDAQ). At Sun-Life he introduced a progressive ESOP for more than 250 employees including part-time workers.
Mr. Nakamura graduated from Hitotsubashi University with a degree in Social Studies, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. As a Research Associate of the General Management Unit of Harvard Business School, Mr.Nakamura wrote two HBS cases that apply Eastern philosophy to management.

Keiko Murao
Head of the Osaka and Nagoya campuses of the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, and the GLOBIS Management School

As head of the Osaka and Nagoya campuses of the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, and the GLOBIS Management School, Ms. Murao is in charge of developing overall business and marketing strategies. She teaches courses including Essentials of Marketing and Strategy, Leadership Development Workshop and Keiei Dojo. She is also involved in nurturing nonprofit organizations and serves on the board of several of these organizations.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Ms. Murao worked at a major travel agency, and subsequently joined a comprehensive human resources services company, where she gained first-hand experience of project management and the overall process of operational integration in corporate mergers.
Ms. Murao graduated from the School of Sociology at Kwansei Gakuin University, and received a Master’s degree in Urban Policy from the Graduate School for Creative Cities, Osaka City University. She was also a graduate of the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) course, GLOBIS’ original MBA program.

Hidehiko Yamaguchi
Head, Faculty Office
Managing Director, GLOBIS

Mr. Hidehiko Yamaguchi currently serves as Managing Director and Head of the Faculty Office. While teaching courses at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, and corporate training seminars at over 50 client companies, he has pursued research on the practical aspects of management strategy, including new business development, service management and B-to-B strategies. His important works include Corporate Sales–The Profit Principle (Diamond Inc.), Nihon-no-Eigyou 2011 (about Japanese marketing, co-author, Diamond Inc.) and Strategic Thinking for the Next Economy (co-translation, Toyo Keizai Inc.). He has also provided numerous contributions and lectures on themes such as corporate innovation and reinforcing marketing skills.
Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Yamaguchi was independent and involved in incubating many venture enterprises following his career at the Bank of Tokyo (currently the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ) and the Boston Consulting Group.
Mr. Yamaguchi graduated from the Faculty of Economics Department at the University of Tokyo and the London Business School (MBA, Dean’s List).

 Motofumi Yoshida
Deputy Dean, Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University

Mr. Motofumi Yoshida is responsible for faculty development, which includes controlling the quality of training and classes, and management and cultivation of internal and external lecturers. With his expertise in teaching methodology for interactive sessions such as case methods, Mr. Yoshida has developed a number of quality instructors and classes by researching and implementing practical teaching methods. While developing program content primarily in the areas of logical thinking, problem solving, communication, management strategy leadership and accounting, he also teaches numerous classes as a lecturer at the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, as well as management courses corporate training programs and Action Learning. His published works include his co-authorship of, MBA Critical Thinking (Diamond Inc.). Prior to joining GLOBIS, Mr. Yoshida assumed his current post after working for a major private railroad company.
Mr. Yoshida completed his Master’s degree in education at the Graduate School of Rikkyo University.
